History

The Scarborough Evening News was first published in 1882. At that time the paper had a major rival in the Scarborough Daily Post, which had appeared 6 years earlier in 1876. The rivalry between the two newspapers continued up to 1921 when the Evening News bought the Daily Post.

In March 2006, the press at the Scarborough Evening News office in Scarborough was closed, ending printing in the town going back 150 years.[3]
